Happy summer to all! I hope you have some fun summer plans! If not, there’s still time to design some summertime breaks. Here are a few ideas to help you manifest a fun Summer 2025:
- Map out your planned activities, including scheduled events and reoccurring ones, making sure to include downtime for relaxation. If it ain’t on the calendar, it ain’t gonna happen!
- Do involve your family! Ask for suggestions and find ways to incorporate everyone’s interests into your break.
- Agree to turn off electronics during whatever outings you create. Except for photos!
- Decide how much you want to spend and look for affordable options like free events, public transportation, or cooking some meals yourself.
- Don’t overschedule your break. Make sure to schedule in time for relaxation and rest.
The goal is to design a summer break that is relaxing and enjoyable, so you can feel like you actually had a summer experience! You CAN have a vacation that fits your preferences and budget.
Cheering you on!

Your Morning Motivation
This section will be a thought to help you set yourself up for a more purposeful day. It can be a very simple thing to add a bit of focused intention to your day.
How to use this section:
- Pick one thing to focus on today. I’ll make a suggestion below, but it can be whatever is right for you.
- Write it down somewhere you’ll see it several times a day. Bonus if you add in why you chose it and how it will make a change in your day/life.
- Set a timer on your phone, 4x today to look at your intention.
- At the end of the day write down how it went, what did you notice, and what you might want to try tomorrow.
What question do you have right now that is holding you up from making progress?
Ask yourself what have I been focusing on for the past several weeks?
Ask yourself: What can I focus on now to look for the answers I have been looking for?
Put reminders in your phone, calendar, and post its around the house & office.
Journal on your day and every possible answer you saw.
Article of the Month
Okay kids, this is super important.
In the Magical Living community we work on creating a life that feels magical, by using brain science. It feels very ‘magical’ but it’s all about how we are made, and how powerful our minds are.
Understanding the Reticular Activating System, how the Fear Dragon™ works, and what Faces of Fear™ are and the roles all of this plays in creating a life we are thrilled to be living is the basis of this work.
I encourage using our focus and intention to make magic happen and bring our heart’s desire to us.
People get discouraged because they don’t always get the results they want.
But here’s the truth: It’s not that our intentions don’t work.
It’s that they work perfectly.
When you say “I want a bank account with a million dollars in it.” The Universe is thrilled. It can’t wait to give it to you. And then it shows you why you don’t already have it. It says “Here’s what’s standing in your way.”
🪄 You ask for clarity between you and your partner. You get a fight that ends the relationship.
🪄 You ask for love. You get someone who mirrors your abandonment wound.
🪄 You ask for protection. Suddenly, no one calls, texts, or shows up.
It’s not sabotage, or a ‘fuck you’. It’s Revelation.
I’ve watched this happen hundreds of times in my classes and community. Some stories made us howl with laughter. Others left us shaky and quiet for days. But every single one taught us what personal development books don’t say:
You speak your frequency, not your words.
Your intentions move through your unspoken fears as fast as your hopes.
Every time you work on a problem or ask a question, your answers are responding to your block.
The results are never random. They’re diagnostic.
Here’s some of what our members have said:
“I asked for communication. He showed up in therapy and listed everything he hated about me.”
“I focused on being protected. My friend went to jail.”
“I wanted to date this guy. He got obsessed. Then I realized I wanted out.”
“I asked for self-love. My skin broke out and I had to stop hiding behind it.”
“I wanted them back. I got their problems instead.”
These aren’t stories of failure.
They’re deep answers begging for healing.
If you’ve ever asked:
Why did this happen?
You’re not alone. You’re not broken.
You’re at the real beginning!
This is an amazing opportunity!
You have a chance to heal what’s holding you back from having the life that really thrills you.
And that’s what we do on Magical Living. Uncover the old victim-y places we don’t even know we are holding on to. And clean that out!
We are a living, breathing community of nerdy people, lovely weirdos, & unique creatives who willingly ask:
What is standing in my way?
This isn’t for the version of you that’s trying to look magical.
It’s for the version of you that is magical, even when it hurts.

Our Quest Travel Adventures
I see animals as signs, and always lean into the moment when a bird or animal shows up. It was especially fun in Australia where all the birds and animals are different from what I am used to!
We traveled around Oz for 5 months. From the very beginning I wanted to see a big mob; that’s a gathering of kangaroos. The big red ones. Hopping across the wilds of Oz.
I had speaking engagements in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne. Nary a kangaroo. The locals would tell us where to look, like a reserve or sanctuary, but that was always out of the range we had time to travel at that point.
I had thought kangaroos were everywhere! WTF Mate?
After those 4 engagements were done and we flew to Cairns, in Queensland, finally on our own adventure time, including a week on a dive boat at the Great Barrier Reef.
We had a couple of weeks before the dive boat adventure began so I found us a place to stay about 2 hours outside of Cairns, in a little beach town called Mission Beach.
If you have traveled anywhere you know choosing a place to stay has a lot of variables! You can research for hours and at the end of the day, you also need some luck!
We really lucked out in this cabin on the edge of the rainforest just blocks to the beach. It was clean, well thought out, very pleasant and comfortable and the location was epic. We heard sounds coming from the bush that made us bolt out of bed at night to see if we could glimpse at whatever amazing creature made those cries.
Kookaburra, cookatoos, egrets, bush curlews, giant black pigs, and cassowary!
I had never even heard of a Cassowary until researching this area and chose this cabin because it had a resident cassowary! Having no idea of what sounds it made or what time of day or night it roamed around, we interviewed anyone who seemed friendly enough about the local cassowary population and how to spot one.
Cassowaries are as tall as a person, black skinny feathers, are shaped somewhat like an Emu, with a strange casque on the top of its head, bright blue skin on its face and a long red wattle. Their feet, and claws are huge and lethal.
You are constantly warned not to approach them because they can kill you. The local school had one that would walk through the grounds on its way to wherever cassowaries hang out. The school shuts down like an active shooter drill.
We were happy to comply to stay safe, but absolutely determined to see one. At the times they were deemed to be active, We drove slowly through the areas, parked and waited watching the local birds and wallabies.
Speaking of wallabies, we saw mobs of them! At first when we took our first walk in the neighborhood down to the beach, we saw dozens of these guys, in a range of sizes from maybe up to my hip to tiny little ones, the size of a cat with long rabbit legs. Terrible analogy, sorry.
Walking past an open grassy lot, backed by forest, we spotted the mob lazing and grazing in the sun. They went on high alert as I squealed quietly to Glenn, kangaroos!
But, almost as quickly, we both doubted they actually were. The biggest of them was large compared to a dog for a poor example. We knew there were a variety of species of marsupials, and wallabies are among them.
Yeah, they were wallabies, and very wary. They should be. People and dogs have not been kind to them.
So we enjoyed them from whatever distance they seemed ok with.
We traveled for almost 5 more months around Oz, not seeing any kangaroos except for a few in sanctuaries. At least then we knew what to look for.
It wasn’t until the last 2 weeks of our time in Oz that we encountered free ranging kangaroos.
I found an Airbnb an hour and a half outside Sydney, that actually mentioned having a local mob of kangaroos on the property. The woman who owned it, Skye, had rescued wombats and ‘roos who had been in their mother’s pouch when hit and killed by cars. (Or shot by farmers 😣)
It turned out to be the best place we have stayed, maybe ever.
We drove in later in the day to check into Skye’s place. It was more charming and wonderful than we could have ever expected. Rustic and haphazard, cozy and full of art and wonderful finds. We did see kangaroos in the distance. And the yard was full of cockatoos and parrots squawking away before they roosted for the night.
We were already delighted.
I got up early, before Glenn and I went into the kitchen cabin (separate from our sleeping cabin) to figure out the coffee brewing process. Every place is a bit different!
While I was puttering around, making a fire in the cast iron stove and brewing coffee, I heard a noise at the screen door, and expecting Glenn, I turned to see a large grey kangaroo waiting expectantly.
I slowly approached, not to frighten her, as I could see by her bulging pouch. There were 2 other female kangaroos outside, in between the 2 cabins. I don’t know why, but I opened the screen door. The closest female, slowly walked in using her front paws and hopping her back legs like a walking bunny. She sniffed around and kept going, dragging her powerful tail and using it to propel her forward. She left muddy drag marks behind her.
I was enthralled and reached out to touch her. She didn’t seem to mind at all. She moved through the cabin and approached the back screen door. I opened that too, and she moved through, taking her time.
The other 2 roos also came in and moved through the cabin. Our hostess had pointed out a bag of raw oats she left for us on the counter, to feed the roos with. After all the girls had moved through I picked up the bag and made individual piles of oats for each of them in the grass, as Skye had said they would fight over the food.
These roos, Skye had explained, had been hand raised by her in these very cabins. So they were ‘home’.
This became a ritual repeated at least 2x a day, morning and evening. Occasionally a female would come to the door to be let in, and would lounge in a patch of sun inside like a huge cat, even kneading their paws when I scratched their chin and ears.
There was a male who came around. He was HUGE. Tall as Glenn with a powerful chest that he’d flex if we got too close. The girls would want to come in when he came around. They didn’t seem ready for his intentions.
After seeing this fellow up close, I decided I was ok with not being this close to a Red, which are even bigger and more aggressive. Though I still would love to see them in the wild. Next time!
I loved these roos, and all the birds that would hang out waiting for the roos to finish with their snacks. Rabbits too would wait nearby and vie with the parrots for leftover oats.
This was our most magical stay, and I cannot wait to go back.
Journal Prompt
(Each month I will give you a thought to fire up your mind. Use journaling prompts over and over again and see how the result changes.)
Do you remember your dreams? Is there one you still remember, it was just that wild? Write it down. You’ll remember more as you write it.
If you don’t remember dreams, write about a daydream you had that was especially moving. Maybe even recurring.
Or write about a story, movie or myth that has always captivated and explore why. What symbols showed up?
If your unconscious had something to show you, what would it be?
